Joseph Bissonnette (Bisnett)

Joseph Bissonnette (Bisnett) was the son of Moise Bissonnette and Julie Kaigle (Goekel). He was born  on May 5, 1849 (info from the Cohoes Republican Newspaper) but I have never been able to verify it with a reliable source). Joseph married Celina Beauvais approximately in 1868 but I have never found the record for this marriage either. Question of it being in Brandon, Vt.or Cohoes, NY  but I went to Brandon and personally searched their vital records and there is no record there. I aso had a search done by the French Canadian Genealogical Society in Burlington, Vt. without success. There is no record of his marriage at St. Joseph's Church (records start in 1867) -the French Canadian church in Cohoes, NY. Possibly he was married in Canada.
Celina was born May 20, 1850 and baptized on May 21, 1850 at Saint Cesaire, St. Cesaire, Rouville, Quebec. Her parents were Solyme Beauvais and Adele Guay. Her godparents were Pierre Goillette and Thermine Beauvais.
Joseph and Celina had 8 children: Julie (1869-1912), Joseph (1871-1944), Alfred (Frederick) 1873-1924) my grandfather, his spouse Helen McClelland, Moses (1876-1883), Elizabeth (Libbie) (1880-1936), Marie Celina (Mamie) (1886-1913), Henriette (1878-?), Marie Celanise (1884 -?). All the children were baptized at St. Joseph's Church in Cohoes, NY. However, Joseph was the only one not born in Cohoes. He was born in Brandon, Vt. Joseph and Celina are listed on the Federal 1870 Census as being in Brandon, Vt. with one child- Julie (one year old).
Joseph died May 1, 1899 (50 yrs old) at 35 White Street, Cohoes, NY and the cause of death was hemorrhage and tuberculosis of the lung. He is buried at St. Joseph's cemetery in Waterford, NY.
Celina died October 19, 1942 (92yrs old) at 105 Lancaster St. Cohoes, NY and the cause of death was myocardia and arteriosclerosis. She was buried on Oct 22, 1942 at St. Joseph's cemetery in Waterford, NY.
